FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Why are certain days blacked-out for daycare?

– The date is near a holiday that will be heavily populated with boarders.

– The date is one of our monthly maintenance and/or staff development days. In a 24/7/365 business, we need to make room for important improvements and training. We select one day per month for these tasks. Note: We pick a different day of the week each time to lessen the impact on frequent flier clients.

– A needed improvement has been scheduled, (such as repaving the parking lot, installing new turf, replacing a door, etc.). We must accommodate installation staff, so the blackout day may be added to the calendar with little notice.

How do I know which dates are blacked-out?

– There is a calendar on this page. The calendar may be updated periodically, so please check back regularly.

– We post the calendar for the month on our social media at the beginning of the month.

– Emails are sent out if a calendar is updated or if something important is going on. Make sure you are receiving Toby Town email. Check your spam folder.

– Our online scheduling portal (Gingr) will block blackout date from reservations.

– If the blackout date is chosen at after you have a reservation confirmation, the portal may take your reservation. We apologize, but we do not always know which dates to blackout. Keep an eye on our social media, emails, and our website calendar for updates.

– You may get a call from our office to let you know a date for which you were confirmed has become a blackout date.

Are there exceptions to blackout dates?

Yes! We are a service business and always want to help when we can. Please call the office or send an email to info@tobytownrva.com to request a needed exception.

What if my dog is a Frequent Flier?

– Frequent Fliers must heed blackout dates unless they have received an exception (see above). We apologize, but the goal of a blackout date is to have as few dogs as possible for safety reasons and have the ability to complete the work that needs doing.

– When Frequent Flier confirmation emails are sent at the beginning of each month, blacked out dates will not be included, unless the blackout date was chosen before the confirmation was sent. Please pay attention to your confirmation emails.
